The Pirate Ship Nocturna

Stars are hung at night
High above the ocean floor
As the pirate ship Nocturna
Heads quickly towards the shore.

The crew, restless in the cabin,
Toss and turn inside their dorm.
With bad dreams sewn in the seems
The pirates loudly snore.

Yet Captain Casey at the wheel,
Is wide-eyed from the nap.
He guides the ship alone at night
With a compass and a map.

When suddenly the boat arrived
With a jarring *CLAP*.
Crashing hard upon the sandy beach
They closed the ocean gap.

Captain Casey, then points forward
Standing proudly at the tip
As the Pirates in pajamas
Are waking from their trip.

The crew who, now shocked awake,
Stumble from their cots
In cozy pants and nighttime caps
With stripes and zipes and spots.

The flag goes up as the anchor drops
Within the salty bath.
The pirates storm the brimey shore
Like a cutlass makes a path.

They rush the castle made of sand
And enter the dungeon lair
To where bad dreams are made of dust
By the horse head witch, Duskmare

Duskmare brings bones to life
As the buccaneers draw their swords.
With Blades ablaze and muskets blast,
The battle becomes a war.

Red capped Jonathan, steals the wand
Right from Duskmare’s hands.
Then sings along the magic song
Turning the skeletons all to sand.

With Duskmare, the witch, locked in chains
There can be no more bad dreams.
And so the pirate ship Nocturna,
Set sail back out to sea.

To the pirates goes the victory
The spoils are theirs to keep.
There's no richer gold to behold
Than the perfect night of sleep.
